If you find yourself with some downtime to travel for a weekend, book your tickets to Chicago. This is a city that is constantly growing with trendy restaurants and rooftop bars with amazing views. To get a great grasp of the beauty of Chicago’s waterfront, the John Hancock building overlooks Lake Michigan and Michigan Avenue, “The Magnificent Mile,” in a 360 view.  You can’t beat the site of a Saturday afternoon when the boats are out to play in clusters along the shoreline.  A personal touch to Chicago is the scene up and down The Magnificent Mile. You will cross paths with beach chairs, brief cases, and cameras filled with tourist images all within a matter of seconds.

The John Hancock building offers the 95th floor for private events. From an after wedding brunch to  a corporate seated dinner, this beaming tower has got you covered. There are four flexible event spaces, all with stunning views, which can accommodate groups of 10 to 600 people.  You are guaranteed a extraordinary vista, whether you choose to face West to the city, South to the water, or go forward and rent out the entire floor for a 360 experience.

The trending summer rooftop bar to see is the Terrace at Trump. The wait to even step out onto the terrace with a glass of Rose was roughly two hours!  Although the wait was not ideal, the view is one of a kind. When the sun starts to go down, sit and enjoy a cocktail while watching the fireworks from The Terrace at Trump on Wednesdays and Saturdays after Memorial Day.  While sipping on your hand-crafted cocktail or glass of wine, you can also try their new al fresco menu from the restaurant as well. Bon Appétit!

From a day shopping on The Magnificent Mile to a beach bum day on Lake Michigan, end your evening at The Public Hotel’s happening restaurant, The Pump Room. If you like seafood, the tuna tartar, salmon sashimi special, and the roasted cod were all to die for from one foodie to another.
