About Mary

Mary KeatingMary Keating has been an event planner and marketing strategist for more than 20 years.

After pursuing a career in dance that took her from New York to Chicago and back to New York, Mary began her career in events at American Ballet Theatre in 1990. At ABT Mary coordinated donor events for the New York Season as well the annual opening night galas in Chicago, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. In 1999, Mary joined People magazine to manage the magazine’s charitable partnerships and events. These responsibilities included cause-marketing programs for The Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric AIDS Foundation, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, The 911 Fund and The Entertainment Industry Foundation.

Mary went on to join Bowen & Company where she served as co-producer of the 2007 and 2008 James Beard Foundation Awards, the Oscars® of the hospitality industry. While at Bowen & Company Mary also co-produced “JBF’S Taste America”, a 20 city unique marketing and event program with multiple sponsors that reached more than 20,000 foodies and families.

Mary received her undergraduate degree from Skidmore College in Theatre and Dance. Among her interests are golf, tennis, swimming and paint by numbers. Mary loves chocolate of all kinds, and in fact considers it a staple of her diet.
